About this place
Along a quieter stretch of Asakusa, BASE THIRD PLACE BAR opens up as an unpretentious drinking spot. Travelers and locals alike step in for its gentle, relaxed rhythm, chatting across the counter with the bartender about preferences before settling into a chosen pour.
The back bar is well stocked with Japanese whiskies, including Yamazaki, Hakushu, Hibiki, and Yoichi, making it easy to compare profiles in a highball. Craft beer drinkers have local taps and bottles to choose from—such as Tokyo Blues, Kyoto Classic, and Coedo—supported by sake, shochu, and spirits for whatever suits the evening.
To accompany the drinks, the kitchen turns out savory small plates: smoked iburigakko daikon pickles with cream cheese, prosciutto and cheese assortments, and dried spicy pollack roe (mentaiko). Comforting warm options like toasted onion bread and raw-egg-topped rice with pickles (tamago kake gohan) make lingering late into the night very easy.
